Since 2011, we have been working with trusted brokers to deliver reliable and competitive vehicle and equipment loans to hard working Australians. In that time, we’ve financed over $3 billion in loans and helped over 50,000 customers.
Starting with loans to business we’ve built on our commercial experience to offer consumer vehicle loans. We aim to make finance reliable by providing efficient and personalised loans for individuals. We are Australian owned and independent, backed by shareholder equity and Australian institutional funding, giving brokers and their clients an alternative to traditional bank funding.
We offer cutting edge financial products and work closely with our brokers to help them tailor quality financial solutions for their clients. Our brokers and customers benefit from our innovative and easy-to-use technology platforms. With our team all based in Australia, our expertise and fast responses are always within reach.

Phillip Crossman
Chief Executive Officer
Phillip founded Metro in 2011. He is a Chartered Accountant and has over 35 years of experience in financial markets. Prior to Metro he was a principal in private equity, specialising in the finance industry. Phillip is focused on ensuring that Metro is always innovating, delivers the best products and services for Metro’s brokers and customers and is an employer of choice.
David Albest
Chief Operating Officer
David sets out to make working with Metro as easy, streamlined and efficient for our introducers and customers as possible. He was one of Metro’s first team members in 2011, and brings over 25 years of experience in asset finance to the business. David has proudly helped Metro grow from just three staff, and to have helped it build a customer-first, collaborative culture. He has a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
Mark Donovan
Chief Financial Officer
Mark, a Chartered Accountant joined Metro in 2023 with over 20 years of experience leading and transforming finance functions within investment management and banking and capital markets. Mark is responsible for the finance and strategy teams at Metro. He is passionate about using technology to enhance business performance. Mark has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales, a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Newcastle and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from FINSIA.
George Pappas
Treasurer
George’s expertise covers treasury and securitisation across wholesale capital markets, funding, derivatives, money market operations and foreign exchange. The funding he arranges ensures our customers can access competitive loans and Metro is ready for growth. He joined Metro in 2019 with over 15 years of experience in Australian ADIs and non-banks. He holds a Master’s in Applied Finance and is an alumnus of the London School of Economics.
Shaun Purcell
Head of Sales
Shaun inspires his team to deliver exceptional service and build great relationships. He joined Metro in 2015 following a 12-year career in major Australian banks. He specialises in third-party asset finance and novated leasing with tertiary qualifications in financial planning. Shaun is proud to have helped Metro win BDM of the Year at the CAFBA awards, and significantly increase monthly originations.
Shaun Dobson
Head of Credit
Shaun joined Metro Finance in 2015 and manages the Metro Credit Team and Credit Risk. He focuses on process improvements, product development, solutions and great service, and his team has won CAFBA Credit Team of the Year. Shaun has a background in the construction and finance industry, along with a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from The University of Sydney.
John O’Brien
Settlements Manager
John focuses on open communication and settling the best possible deals quickly, for the benefit of our trusted introducers and their clients. He joined Metro in 2017 and has around 20 years of valuable experience within the banking and finance industry. He is proud to have helped Metro win Settlements Team of the Year for two consecutive years at the CAFBA awards.
Chevon Abbaticchio
Strategy & Business Improvement Manager
Chevon joined Metro in 2018 and has 10 years of asset finance experience. She established Metro's customer service function and servicing platform. She has since moved into the role of Strategy and Business Improvement Manager and is responsible for realising and driving the corporate strategy across the business. Chevon is currently undertaking a Master of Business Administration at University of New South Wales.
Raj Kripal
Head of Servicing
Raj focuses on building a high-performing and innovative team. He joined Metro in 2015 and founded our Collections and Recoveries process, after gaining 13 years of experience at various organisations within the financial services industry. Raj is proud to have helped Metro maintain one of the lowest delinquency rates within the comparable industry. Raj looks after our servicing function and specialises in ensuring our customers and introducers are provided with the highest quality service and streamlined processes from the point their loan is opened to closure.
Damir Prasovic
Head of Risk and Compliance
Damir focuses on corporate governance, quality assurance and fraud management to keep Metro and our clients secure. He started with Metro in 2018 after more than 10 years with global banks, and has made risk awareness part of our everyday practice and processes. Damir has a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from The University of Sydney.
Caroline Spring
Head of People and Culture
Caroline is passionate about supporting Metro and our people to succeed. She has implemented the best in HR systems and processes, while making Metro a great and collaborative place to work. This shows in our extremely low turnover rates and great employee feedback. Caroline joined Metro in 2021, bringing experience from a 25-year career working in Australia and the UK in start-ups through to large global companies. Caroline has tertiary qualifications in HR Management and Applied Science.
Ninos Yacoub
Head of Development
Ninos architects, designs and implements innovative software solutions so that our teams have the tools they need to deliver great service. He aims to make everything easy to use, secure and efficient. Ninos joined Metro in 2017, bringing over 15 years of development experience from start-ups to corporations and not-for-profits. Ninos was involved in building our market-leading broker portal from the ground up. He has a Bachelor of Software Engineering from The University of Auckland.
Neha Rai
Head of Product
Neha leads Metro’s Product team and drives product strategy and direction. She focuses on digital transformation to meet new business, market and customer needs. Neha joined Metro in 2018 and has over 10 years of experience in developing great user journeys and product design. She has a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Masters of Business Administration.
Hayley Phillips
Marketing and Communications Manager
Hayley has had an extensive career spanning many industries, (music, events, television, real estate) however the last decade has been as a national marketer in the automotive industry. Hayley embodies “outside the box” thinking with her innovative and progressive attitude towards marketing. Now Hayley is moving into the finance industry with Metro bringing with her the same gusto, passion and determination to create connection through her marketing.
Tony Byun
Data Analytics Manager
Tony joined Metro in 2019 with four years of experience in his field. He has since established our Enterprise Data Warehouse, Metro’s foundation for reporting and data analysis. Tony focuses on interpreting data and translating it into useful knowledge to help businesses make informed decisions. Tony has a Bachelor of Science from The University of Auckland, and a double major in mathematics and statistics, with honours in statistics.
